MORE ABOUT THIS ITEM

The Magnahelic guage is the industry standard to measure fan and blower pressures, filter resistance, air velocity, furnace draft, pressure drop across orifice plates, liquid levels with bubbler systems, and pressures in fluid amplifier or fluidic systems. The gauge's motion is damped with high-viscosity silicone fluid. The zero adjustment screw is conveniently located in the plastic cover, and is accessible without removing the cover. O-ring seal provides pressure tightness. Rugged design resists shock, vibration, and overpressure.

The helix is precision-made from an alloy of high magnetic permeability. Mounted in jeweled bearings, it turns freely, following the maganetic field to move the pointer across the scale. The samarium cobalt magnet is mounted at one end of the range spring and rotates the helix without mechanical linkages.

FAQs of Dwyer USA Magnehelic Gauges 0 To 4.0 Inch WC:

Q: How do I install the Dwyer Magnehelic Differential Pressure Gauge?

A: To install the gauge, use the provided panel mounting hardware for surface or flush mounting. Connect the high and low pressure lines to the 1/8 NPT side ports, following application requirements. Ensure the unit is level and zeroed using the external adjustment screw before operation.

Q: What applications are best suited for this pressure gauge?

A: This Magnehelic Gauge is ideal for monitoring differential pressure in HVAC systems, clean rooms, filter monitoring, and building pressure control. Its designed to measure air and non-corrosive gases, making it a versatile choice for industrial and commercial environments.

Q: When should I perform zero adjustment on the gauge?

A: Its recommended to check and, if needed, zero the gauge during initial installation and routine inspections. Use the external adjustment screw to recalibrate if the needle does not rest at zero when no pressure is applied.

Q: Where should I locate the gauge in my system for optimal performance?

A: Mount the gauge in a clean, accessible area away from vibration sources and direct moisture. For best results, position it close to the point of measurement and at eye level for easy reading and maintenance.

Q: What benefits does the clear polycarbonate window provide?

A: The clear polycarbonate window offers full visibility of the 4-inch analog dial, allowing users to quickly and accurately read pressure values without distortion. It also provides impact resistance and protects the gauge from dust and splashes (IP54 rated).

Q: How does the overpressure protection feature work?

A: The overpressure limit allows the gauge to withstand up to 15 psi, safeguarding internal components from accidental pressure spikes and enhancing the durability of the device in high-demand applications.

Q: What is the process for calibrating this Magnehelic Gauge?

A: Each Magnehelic Differential Pressure Gauge is factory calibrated. If recalibration is necessary, use the external zero adjustment screw while the gauge is not under pressure. For comprehensive recalibration, refer to the manufacturers instructions or consult qualified service personnel.
