MORE ABOUT THIS ITEM

The Magnahelic guage is the industry standard to measure fan and blower pressures, filter resistance, air velocity, furnace draft, pressure drop across orifice plates, liquid levels with bubbler systems, and pressures in fluid amplifier or fluidic systems. The gauge's motion is damped with high-viscosity silicone fluid. The zero adjustment screw is conveniently located in the plastic cover, and is accessible without removing the cover. O-ring seal provides pressure tightness. Rugged design resists shock, vibration, and overpressure.

The helix is precision-made from an alloy of high magnetic permeability. Mounted in jeweled bearings, it turns freely, following the maganetic field to move the pointer across the scale. The samarium cobalt magnet is mounted at one end of the range spring and rotates the helix without mechanical linkages.

FAQs of Dwyer USA Magnehelic Gauges 0.25-0-0.25 Inch WC:

Q: How do I install the Dwyer Magnehelic Gauge for optimal performance?

A: To install the gauge, use the included surface mounting brackets or opt for flush mounting, as per your setup requirements. Connect the high and low pressure taps using 1/8 NPT fittings via the side or back ports. Ensure the gauge is positioned indoors, as it is not rated for outdoor ingress protection.

Q: What types of media can be measured with this gauge?

A: The Dwyer Magnehelic Gauge is designed to measure differential pressure in air and non-corrosive gases. Avoid using it with corrosive fluids or liquids to maintain the integrity and accuracy of the device.

Q: When should I use the external zero adjustment?

A: The external screw adjustment should be used to calibrate the gauge to zero before taking differential pressure measurements. This helps eliminate any offset due to environmental conditions or installation variances, ensuring maximum accuracy.

Q: Where should I mount the Magnehelic Gauge in my facility?

A: Mount the gauge on a clean, vibration-free indoor wall or panel near your monitoring point, utilizing either the flush or surface mounting options. Ensure accessibility for regular observation, maintenance, and adjustment.

Q: What benefits does the clear acrylic front cover offer?

A: The full front clear acrylic lens provides excellent visibility of the analog dial, enhances protection against dust, and resists shattering, making it safe and durable for industrial environments.

Q: How does this gauge maintain measurement accuracy?

A: Precision mechanical assembly and diaphragm actuation deliver a consistent 2% of full scale accuracy. Regular calibration via the external zero screw and proper installation further support reliable readings throughout the gauges lifecycle.
