About Dwyer 4003 Capsuhelic Differential Pressure Gauge
Dwyer 4003 Capsuhelic Differential Pressure Gauge
Dwyer Instruments 4003
Capsuhelic Differential Press. Gauge, 0-3 in H2O, brass case
Differential Pressure Gage, Range 0-3.0" w.c., For Vertical Scale Position Only.
The Capsuhelic gauge is designed to give fast, accurate indication of differential pressures. The gauge may be used as a readout device when measuring flowing fluids, pressure drop across filters, liquid levels in storage tanks and many other applications involving pressure, vacuum or differential pressure. Using the basic design of Dwyer's time-proven Magnehelic gauge, the Capsuhelic gauge contains a simple, frictionless movement that permits full scale readings as low as 0.5 in H2O. The pressure being measured is held within a capsule which is an integral part of the gauge. This containment of the pressure permits the use of the gauge on system pressures of up to 500 psig, even when differentials to be read are less than 0.1 in H2O. The diaphragm-actuated Capsuhelic gauge requires no filling liquid which might limit its outdoor applications. Zero and range adjustments are made from outside the gauge, and there is no need to disassemble the gauge in normal service. Note: May be used with Hydrogen. Order a Buna-N diaphragm. Pressures must be less than 35 psi.

FAQs of Dwyer 4003 Capsuhelic Differential Pressure Gauge:
Q: How do I install the Dwyer 4003 Capsuhelic Differential Pressure Gauge?
A: Installation is straightforward using the supplied mounting hardware. The gauge mounts to a flat surface or panel and connects to your system via the two 1/8" NPT female ports. Refer to the included instruction manual for detailed guidance.
Q: What types of media can the Dwyer 4003 measure?
A: This gauge is compatible with air and non-corrosive gases only. It should not be used with aggressive or corrosive liquids or gases to maintain its accuracy and longevity.
Q: When should I use the external zero adjustment screw?
A: Use the external zero adjustment screw during initial setup or any time you suspect zero drift. This ensures the gauges pointer aligns accurately with the zero mark, maintaining measurement precision.
Q: Where is the Dwyer 4003 typically used?
A: It is commonly used in industrial settings for monitoring filter conditions, airflow, or pressure drops in ducts, cleanrooms, and HVAC applications. Its robust construction suits general-purpose use in India and similar environments.
Q: What benefits does the capsule sensor provide over bourdon tube gauges?
A: The capsule sensor in the Dwyer 4003 is specifically designed for low pressure differentials, offering higher sensitivity and accuracy for small changes compared to traditional bourdon tube mechanisms, especially in the range of 0-3 inches w.c.
Q: How do I ensure the gauge maintains accuracy over time?
A: Routine calibration using the external zero adjustment screw, proper installation, and limiting exposure to media outside of air and non-corrosive gases will ensure long-term accuracy and reliability.
Q: What is included with the Dwyer 4003 when purchased from a supplier in India?
A: Each unit includes standard mounting hardware and an instruction manual for easy installation and operation. The gauge features a corrosion-resistant machined and painted aluminum case for extended life.
