MORE ABOUT THIS ITEM
The Magnahelic guage is the industry standard to measure fan and blower pressures, filter resistance, air velocity, furnace draft, pressure drop across orifice plates, liquid levels with bubbler systems, and pressures in fluid amplifier or fluidic systems. The gauge's motion is damped with high-viscosity silicone fluid. The zero adjustment screw is conveniently located in the plastic cover, and is accessible without removing the cover. O-ring seal provides pressure tightness. Rugged design resists shock, vibration, and overpressure.
The helix is precision-made from an alloy of high magnetic permeability. Mounted in jeweled bearings, it turns freely, following the maganetic field to move the pointer across the scale. The samarium cobalt magnet is mounted at one end of the range spring and rotates the helix without mechanical linkages.

Its compatibility with air and non-corrosive gases and its analog display make it suitable for maintaining operational integrity in sensitive and controlled environments.
FAQs of Dwyer USA Magnehelic Gauges 5-0-5 MM WC:
Q: How do I install the Dwyer Magnehelic 5-0-5 mm WC gauge?
A: The gauge is designed for easy installation on both surfaces and panels using the included mounting hardware. You can connect it via the side or back 1/8 NPT thread ports, following the guidelines in the supplied installation manual.
Q: What is the primary benefit of using this Magnehelic gauge in HVAC and clean room applications?
A: This gauge provides precise differential pressure readings, essential for monitoring air flow and filter performance. Maintaining proper pressure levels ensures optimal air quality, system efficiency, and regulatory compliance in controlled spaces.
Q: When should I use the zero adjustment feature?
A: Use the external zero adjustment knob to recalibrate the gauge if readings drift from the true zero mark, particularly before initial use or after routine maintenance, ensuring measurement accuracy.
Q: Where can the Magnehelic 5-0-5 mm WC gauge be mounted?
A: It can be mounted on flat surfaces or panels, making it suitable for placement in control panels, walls of clean rooms, HVAC units, or on filter housings, depending on your measurement needs.
Q: What process does the gauge use to measure differential pressure?
A: The gauge operates using a diaphragm mechanism to accurately measure the difference in air or non-corrosive gas pressure. Changes in pressure deflect the diaphragm, which is displayed via the analog pointer.
Q: Which gases can be safely measured with this differential pressure gauge?
A: The Magnehelic 5-0-5 mm WC is designed for measuring differential pressure in air and non-corrosive gases, making it unsuitable for aggressive or corrosive chemicals.
Q: What makes this gauge reliable for industrial applications?
A: Its IP52-rated protection, robust die-cast aluminum body, high accuracy (2% full scale), and wide operating temperature range (-7C to 60C) make it ideal for demanding, critical environments.
