MORE ABOUT THIS ITEM
The Magnahelic guage is the industry standard to measure fan and blower pressures, filter resistance, air velocity, furnace draft, pressure drop across orifice plates, liquid levels with bubbler systems, and pressures in fluid amplifier or fluidic systems. The gauge's motion is damped with high-viscosity silicone fluid. The zero adjustment screw is conveniently located in the plastic cover, and is accessible without removing the cover. O-ring seal provides pressure tightness. Rugged design resists shock, vibration, and overpressure.
The helix is precision-made from an alloy of high magnetic permeability. Mounted in jeweled bearings, it turns freely, following the maganetic field to move the pointer across the scale. The samarium cobalt magnet is mounted at one end of the range spring and rotates the helix without mechanical linkages.

FAQs of Dwyer USA Magnehelic Gauges 0 To 150 MM WC:
Q: How do I install the Dwyer Magnehelic Gauge in my HVAC system?
A: Installation can be performed via surface or flush mounting using the supplied screws and adapters. The gauges side and back connection ports (1/8 NPT female) provide flexibility for panel or duct mounting, ensuring optimal placement for accurate low-pressure measurements in your HVAC application.
Q: What pressure ranges can the Magnehelic Gauge measure, and what gases is it compatible with?
A: This model measures differential pressures from 0 to 150 mm WC and is engineered for low air or non-corrosive gas applications. It is suitable for cleanrooms, duct static pressure measurement, and filter monitoring without risk of chemical incompatibility with sensitive sensor components.
Q: When is it necessary to zero adjust the gauge and how is it done?
A: If the pointer does not indicate zero when no pressure is applied, use the external adjustment screw to reset it. This ensures the accuracy of readings and should be checked before initial use or after extended operation, particularly in environments with frequent pressure fluctuations.
Q: Where can the Magnehelic Gauge be mounted for effective monitoring?
A: It can be surface or flush mounted on HVAC panels, ductwork, or cleanroom walls. Its compact 100mm diameter and provided mounting accessories make installation on most surfaces straightforward, allowing for optimal visibility and accessibility in various industrial settings.
Q: What protections does the gauge have against overpressure and environmental conditions?
A: The Magnehelic Gauge is rupture-proof up to twice its maximum rated pressure and features IP52 ingress protection, safeguarding it from dust and limited water ingress. The die-cast aluminum case and corrosion-resistant enamel finish further enhance its durability and reliability in demanding environments.
Q: How does using this gauge benefit filter monitoring processes?
A: By providing precise pressure differential readings, the gauge enables early detection of filter clogging or reduced airflow. This helps in timely maintenance and replacement, ensuring optimal system efficiency and preventing costly downtime in industrial and cleanroom environments.
