About Dwyer Magnehelic Differential Pressure Gauge Model 2000-4KPA

Dwyer Magnehelic Differential Pressure Gauge Model 2000-4KPA

Dwyer 2000-4KPA MAGNEHELIC, DIFFERENTIAL PRESSURE GAUGE, 0/4KPA

  • Precision litho-printed scale is accurate and easy to read.
  • Red tipped pointer of heat treated aluminum tubing is easy to see. It is rigidly mounted on the helix shaft.
  • Pointer stops of molded rubber prevent pointer over-travel without damage.
  • "Wishbone" assembly provides mounting for helix, helix bearings and pointer shaft.
  • Jeweled bearings are shock-resistant mounted; provide virtually friction-free motion for helix. Motion damped with high viscosity silicone fluid.
  • Zero adjustment screw is conveniently located in the plastic cover, and is accessible without removing the cover. O-ring seal provides pressure tightness.
  • Helix is precision made from an alloy of high magnetic permeability. Mounted in jeweled bearings, it turns freely, following the magnetic field to move the pointer across the scale.
  • Samarium Cobalt magnet mounted at one end of range spring rotates helix without mechanical linkages.
  • Calibrated range spring is flat spring steel. Small amplitude of motion assures consistency and long life. It reacts to pressure on diaphragm. Live length adjustable for calibration.
  • Silicone rubber diaphragm with integrally molded O-ring is supported by front and rear plates. It is locked and sealed in position with a sealing plate and retaining ring. Diaphragm motion is restricted to prevent damage due to overpressures.
  • Die cast aluminum case is precision made and iridite-dipped to withstand 168 hour salt spray corrosion test. Exterior finished in baked dark gray hammerloid. One case size is used for all standard pressure options, and for both surface and flush mounting.
  • Blowout plug of silicone rubber protects against overpressure on 15 psig rated models. Opens at approximately 25 psig.
  • O-ring seal for cover assures pressure integrity of case.

Precision Measurement for Critical Applications

Designed for accurate monitoring in environments such as HVAC systems, clean rooms, and industrial air handling units, the Dwyer Magnehelic Model 2000-4KPA delivers reliable differential pressure readings. Its analog dial display and diaphragm sensor mechanism enable immediate and clear readings, ensuring optimal air quality and system performance.

Robust Construction for Demanding Environments

The gauge is crafted from die-cast aluminum with a powder-coated finish for longevity. Its shatter-resistant acrylic front window and silicone rubber gasket enhance durability and safety, while external zero adjustment allows for convenient calibration. Overpressure protection is assured by a built-in relief bleed plug.

Effortless Installation and Maintenance

With included mounting brackets, two static pressure tips, and screws, the Magnehelic Model 2000-4KPA supports both surface and panel mounting. Its two 1/8" NPT female ports offer flexible connections for various setups, ensuring simple integration into existing systems and straightforward maintenance.

FAQs of Dwyer Magnehelic Differential Pressure Gauge Model 2000-4KPA:

Q: How do I install the Dwyer Magnehelic Differential Pressure Gauge Model 2000-4KPA?

A: The gauge can be surface or panel mounted using the provided mounting brackets and screws. Connect the two 1/8" NPT female ports to the appropriate pressure sources using tubing, ensuring the instrument is installed in a vertical position for accurate readings.

Q: What are the primary applications for this differential pressure gauge?

A: It is designed for use in HVAC systems, clean rooms, air velocity measurement, filter condition monitoring, and fan/blower pressure monitoring, measuring air or non-corrosive gases.

Q: When should I adjust the zero on the Magnehelic gauge?

A: Zero adjustment should be performed before initial operation and periodically for accurate measurements. Use the external screw dial adjustment to set the needle to zero when both ports are open to atmospheric pressure.

Q: Where is the Dwyer Magnehelic 2000-4KPA best suited for installation?

A: It is ideal for industrial, laboratory, and commercial environments requiring precise air pressure monitoring, such as in ductwork, clean rooms, or filter housings.

Q: What process is used in the Magnehelic gauge to measure differential pressure?

A: The gauge utilizes a diaphragm-type differential pressure sensor that deflects proportionally to the pressure difference, which is displayed on the analog dial for immediate readings.

Q: How does the overpressure protection mechanism work?

A: A relief bleed plug is fitted into the gauge to release excess pressure, safeguarding sensitive components from damage due to overpressure events.

Q: What benefits does the Dwyer Magnehelic Model 2000-4KPA offer?

A: This gauge provides immediate, accurate analog pressure readings, durable construction, straightforward installation, and low maintenance, supporting reliable operation in demanding industrial and commercial settings.
