About Dwyer EDPS-04-1-N Adjustable Differential Pressure Switch
Dwyer EDPS-04-1-N Adjustable Differential Pressure Switch
Adjustable differential pressure switch, range .12-1.60" w.c., with M20 connection.
The Series EDPS Adjustable Differential Pressure Switch is designed for pressure, vacuum, and differential pressures. The dual scaled adjustment knob in inches water column and pascals allows changes to the switching pressure to be made without a pressure gage. The EDPS is available with settings from 0.08" w.c. (20 Pa) up to 16" w.c. (4000 Pa). The silicone diaphragm and PA 6.6 body make the series EDPS ideal for use with air and other noncombustible gases. The compact size, adjustment knob and meeting the UL508 standard make the EDPS the perfect choice for H.V.A.C. applications.

FAQ's of Dwyer EDPS-04-1-N Adjustable Differential Pressure Switch:
Q: How do I adjust the set point on the Dwyer EDPS-04-1-N switch?
A: You can adjust the set point externally using the provided adjustment knob on the device. No disassembly is required, allowing quick and easy configuration to your desired differential pressure value within the range of 0.4 to 4.0 in. w.c. (100 to 1000 Pa).
Q: What applications is the EDPS-04-1-N suitable for?
A: This differential pressure switch is designed for monitoring air and non-combustible gas pressures in HVAC systems, including air filters, fans, and blowers. Its robust build and industrial grading make it suitable for a broad array of installation sites.
Q: What is the benefit of the SPDT switch type in this unit?
A: An SPDT (Single-Pole Double-Throw) switch allows the user to control two separate circuits or functions using a single pressure trigger, offering flexibility for complex automation or alarm systems in industrial applications.
Q: Where should the EDPS-04-1-N be mounted for optimal operation?
A: This device can be panel or surface mounted and comes with mounting screws and a seal gasket. Placement should permit easy access to the adjustment knob while ensuring exposure to the air or gas source to be monitored.
Q: What is the typical process of wiring and installing this pressure switch?
A: Installation involves mounting the enclosure, connecting the 1/8" female NPT port to your pressure line, and wiring the SPDT switch contacts to your control or monitoring circuit rated up to 5A at 250 VAC. Ensure all seals and gaskets are properly installed for IP54-rated protection.
Q: How does the hysteresis of the switch affect its usage?
A: The switch hysteresis, approximately 15% of the set point, prevents rapid toggling due to minor pressure fluctuations, ensuring stable operation and prolonging equipment life.
Q: What advantages does the IP54 enclosure provide?
A: The IP54-rated enclosure protects the internal components against dust and water splashes, making the switch ideal for use in challenging environments typically encountered in industrial and HVAC installations.
