About Dwyer BDPA-03-2-N Adjustable Differential Pressure Switch

Dwyer BDPA-03-2-N Adjustable Differential Pressure Switch

Series BDPA Adjustable Differential Pressure Alarm .20-2.00" w.c.

24 Volt or Battery Powered, Built-in Audible and Visual Alarm

The Series BDPA Adjustable Differential Pressure Alarm with built-in audible and visual set point indication is designed for overpressure, vacuum, and differential pressure applications. The scaled adjustment knob allows changes to the switching pressure to be made without a pressure gage. The silicone diaphragm and PA 6.6 body make the Series BDPA perfect for use with air and other noncombustible gases.

The Series BDPA Adjustable Differential Pressure Alarms offer a versatile range of configurations allowing utilization of their many features. The BDPA can be powered by battery or 24 VDC/VAC line power. If connecting line power, the battery can act as back-up power in case of power outage. When set point threshold is reached, a local loud audible buzzer and bright LED will indicate periodically notifying of set point activation. An SPDT contact may also be wired to send a signal remotely to a DDC or building management system. A snooze button located through an opening in the cover can be pressed by the user to manually disengage the audible and visual indication until a maintenance operation is performed. If the instrument is mounted where it is difficult to access, a remote contact may be connected allowing the user to deactivate the buzzer and LED at the remote contact location.

The Series BDPA Differential Pressure Alarm's great functional versatility makes it perfect for filter, fan, and ventilation applications or any retrofit job where installing electrical wiring proves cost-prohibitive.

Note: For a 1/2" npt connection, use the 1/2" conduit fitting adapter (A-483).

FAQs of Dwyer BDPA-03-2-N Adjustable Differential Pressure Switch:

Q: How do I adjust the set point on the Dwyer BDPA-03-2-N pressure switch?

A: You can modify the set point externally using the adjustment knob located on the switch. This allows for rapid changes to the pressure setting without needing to open the device or interrupt installation.

Q: What applications is the BDPA-03-2-N suitable for?

A: This switch is ideal for monitoring and controlling differential pressure in HVAC systems, air handling units, industrial air compressors, and other systems handling air or non-corrosive gases.

Q: When should I choose an SPDT pressure switch like this model?

A: An SPDT (Single Pole Double Throw) switch is beneficial when you require both a normally open and a normally closed contact for flexible control circuits, making it suitable for safety, alarm, and process automation purposes.

Q: Where is this differential pressure switch typically mounted?

A: The unit is designed for wall mounting and is supplied with the necessary screws and instruction manual to ensure a secure and straightforward installation.

Q: What is the process for connecting electrical wiring to this pressure switch?

A: Electrical connections are made through the provided screw terminals. Ensure the power supply is off before connecting wires, following the instructions to guarantee a safe and robust connection.

Q: What are the benefits of the aluminum case and brass wetted parts?

A: The aluminum case delivers excellent durability and corrosion resistance, while brass wetted parts ensure compatibility with non-corrosive gases, enhancing the switchs longevity and reliability in challenging environments.
