he Series 3000MR Photohelic® Switch/Gage combine the functions of a precise, highly repeatable differential pressure switch with a large easy-to-read analog pressure gage employing the durable, time-proven Magnehelic® gage design. Switch setting is easy to adjust with large external knobs on the gage face. Gage reading is unaffected by switch operation - will indicate accurately even if power is interrupted. Solid state design now results in greatly reduced size and weight. Units can be flush mounted in 4-13/16" hole or surface mounted with hardware supplied. 3000MR models employ versatile electromechanical relays with gold over silver contacts - ideal for dry circuits.
Gage accuracy is ±2% of full scale and switch repeatability is ±1%. Switch deadband is one pointer width - less than 1% of full scale. Compatible with air and other non-combustible, non-corrosive gases, they can be used in systems with pressures to 25 psig.

Dual Operation ModesThe Dwyer 3005MRS operates both as an indicating gauge and as a control switch, making it extremely versatile for industrial control systems. Its two SPDT relays allow automation of processes by providing switch actuation based on pressure thresholds. Users benefit from live analog readings alongside reliable mechanical relay switching within the same compact housing.
External Set Point AdjustmentThis model features convenient, external front-panel adjustable set points, allowing users to fine-tune switch thresholds without disassembly. The clearly marked set point indicators on the analog display enhance usability, ensuring quick, accurate configuration during installation or routine calibration. Such adjustability boosts operational efficiency and safety in a wide range of settings.
Robust Construction and Easy InstallationEngineered with a die-cast aluminum body and a full-face polycarbonate lens, the 3005MRS combines ruggedness with clear visibility. The unit is designed for easy mounting in vertical or flush orientations and includes all necessary accessories, such as mounting brackets and panel gaskets, ensuring a smooth installation process in both new and retrofit industrial environments.
FAQs of Dwyer 3005MRS Photohelic Switch/Gauge 0 to 5 inch:
Q: How do I adjust the set points on the Dwyer 3005MRS Photohelic Switch/Gauge?
A: To adjust the set points, use the external, front-located adjustment knobs to precisely set desired pressure thresholds. The analog display has set point indicators for accurate and visible configuration, eliminating the need to open the enclosure during adjustment.
Q: What types of pressures and media can the Dwyer 3005MRS measure?
A: The 3005MRS is designed to measure air and compatible gases within a range of 0 to 5 inches water column (w.c.), making it ideal for HVAC, filter monitoring, and other industrial air/gas pressure applications.
Q: When should the instrument be mounted vertically, and are there alternative mounting options?
A: Vertical orientation is preferred to maintain optimal accuracy; however, the unit can be flush or surface mounted as needed using the included mounting accessories, ensuring flexibility for different panel configurations.
Q: Where can I connect the pressure lines on this gauge?
A: Connect the high and low pressure lines to the designated 1/8" NPT female ports on the back of the gauge. These ports ensure secure, leak-free connections for both input and comparative measurements.
Q: What is the benefit of the combined pressure gauge and switch function?
A: With both indicating and switching functions, users get live pressure readings alongside automatic relay activation when limits are crossed, streamlining system automation, improving process control, and reducing the need for separate devices.
Q: How robust is the Dwyer 3005MRS in industrial environments?
A: Featuring a die-cast aluminum housing, clear polycarbonate lens, and a NEMA 2 (IP42) enclosure, the 3005MRS is built to withstand harsh industrial conditions, protecting the internal mechanisms from dust, light splashes, and physical impacts.
Q: What is the process for electrical connection and what are the relay specifications?
A: Wiring is completed via screw terminal blocks inside the enclosure. The two relay outputs are rated for 5A at 120/240 VAC and 3A at 28 VDC, suitable for most industrial switching applications.
