About Dwyer 2025D Magnehelic Differential Pressure Gauge

Dwyer 2025D Magnehelic Differential Pressure Gauge

Dwyer Instruments 2025D

Magnehelic Pressure Gauge 0-25 in H2O, 0-6.2 kPa

Dual scale. Bezel provides flange for flush mounting in panel. Clear plastic face is highly resistant to breakage. Provides undistorted viewing of pointer and scale.

Dwyer 2025D MAGNEHELIC, DIFFERENTIAL PRESSURE GAUGE, 0 - 25, 0-6.2 KPA

Precision litho-printed scale is accurate and easy to read.

Red tipped pointer of heat treated aluminum tubing is easy to see. It is rigidly mounted on the helix shaft.

Pointer stops of molded rubber prevent pointer over-travel without damage.

"Wishbone" assembly provides mounting for helix, helix bearings and pointer shaft.

Jeweled bearings are shock-resistant mounted; provide virtually friction-free motion for helix. Motion damped with high viscosity silicone fluid.

Zero adjustment screw is conveniently located in the plastic cover, and is accessible without removing the cover. O-ring seal provides pressure tightness.

Helix is precision made from an alloy of high magnetic permeability. Mounted in jeweled bearings, it turns freely, following the magnetic field to move the pointer across the scale.

Samarium Cobalt magnet mounted at one end of range spring rotates helix without mechanical linkages.

Calibrated range spring is flat spring steel. Small amplitude of motion assures consistency and long life. It reacts to pressure on diaphragm. Live length adjustable for calibration.

Silicone rubber diaphragm with integrally molded O-ring is supported by front and rear plates. It is locked and sealed in position with a sealing plate and retaining ring. Diaphragm motion is restricted to prevent damage due to over pressures.

Die cast aluminum case is precision made and iridite-dipped to withstand 168 hour salt spray corrosion test. Exterior finished in baked dark gray hammerloid. One case size is used for all standard pressure options, and for both surface and flush mounting.

Blowout plug of silicone rubber protects against overpressure on 15 psig rated models. Opens at approximately 25 psig.

O-ring seal for cover assures pressure integrity of case.

FAQs of Dwyer 2025D Magnehelic Differential Pressure Gauge:

Q: How does the Dwyer 2025D Magnehelic Gauge measure differential pressure?

A: The 2025D utilizes a diaphragm-actuated mechanism to detect minor differences in air or non-corrosive gas pressures between two points. The diaphragm movement is transmitted to a robust pointer, displaying accurate pressure readings on an analog dial.

Q: What should be considered when installing the Dwyer 2025D Magnehelic Gauge?

A: For optimal performance, ensure mounting is on a stable surface or panel, either surface or flush mount as per requirements. The included 1/8 NPT connectors are compatible with standard piping, and installation should avoid excessive vibration or direct exposure to corrosive substances for a long service life.

Q: Where can the Dwyer 2025D Magnehelic Gauge be used?

A: This gauge is commonly used in HVAC systems for monitoring filter status, controlling fans and blowers, and measuring air velocities. Its robust design also makes it suitable for various industrial environments where differential pressure measurement of air and non-corrosive gases is required.

Q: When should I perform zero adjustment on the Dwyer 2025D?

A: Zero adjustment is recommended after installation and periodically during maintenance. Use the external zero adjustment screw to recalibrate the gauge, ensuring accurate readings over time, especially if the gauge has been subjected to environmental changes.

Q: What are the main benefits of using the Dwyer 2025D Magnehelic Gauge?

A: The primary advantages include high accuracy (2% of full scale), ease of installation, robust construction for industrial use, and versatile mounting options. It delivers reliable readings, increases system efficiency, and helps prevent costly maintenance by offering early detection of pressure changes.

Q: How do I maintain and clean the Dwyer 2025D Magnehelic Gauge?

A: Maintain the gauge by periodically inspecting for dust and debris on the acrylic cover and dial face. Use a soft, damp cloth for cleaning. Ensure that connections are tight and inspect seals regularly to avoid leaks, preserving long-term accuracy.
