About Dwyer 2000-00 Magnehelic Gage Range 0-.25 Inch WC

Dwyer 2000-00 Magnehelic Gage Range 0-.25 Inch WC

Magnehelic Gageis the industry standard to measure fan and Blower Pressures, Filter resistance, air velocity, furnace draft, pressure drop across orifice plates, liquid levels with bubbler systems and pressures in fluid amplifier or fluidic systems. It also checks gas-air ratio controls and automatic valves, and monitors blood and respiratory pressures in medical care equipment. Bezel provides flange for flush mounting in panel. Clear plastic face is highly resistant to breakage. Provides undistorted viewing of pointer and scale. Precision litho-printed scale is accurate and easy to read. Red tipped pointer of heat treated aluminum tubing is easy to see. It is rigidly mounted on the helix shaft. Pointer stops of molded rubber prevent pointer over-travel without damage. "Wishbone" assembly provides mounting for helix, helix bearings and pointer shaft. Jeweled bearings are shock-resistant mounted; provide virtually friction-free motion for helix. Motion damped with high viscosity silicone fluid. Zero adjustment screw is conveniently located in the plastic cover, and is accessible without removing the cover. O-ring seal provides pressure tightness. Helix is precision made from an alloy of high magnetic permeability. Mounted in jeweled bearings, it turns freely, following the magnetic field to move the pointer across the scale. Calibrated range spring is flat spring steel. Small amplitude of motion assures consistency and long life. It reacts to pressure on diaphragm. Live length adjustable for calibration. Silicone rubber diaphragm with integrally molded O-ring is supported by front and rear plates. It is locked and sealed in position with a sealing plate and retaining ring. Diaphragm motion is restricted to prevent damage due to overpressures. Die cast aluminum case is precision made and iridite-dipped to withstand 168 hour salt spray corrosion test. Exterior finished in baked dark gray hammerloid. One case size is used for all standard pressure options, and for both surface and flush mounting. OVERPRESSURE PROTECTION Blowout plug is comprised of a rubber plug on the rear which functions as a relief valve by unseating and venting the Gage interior when over pressure reaches approximately 25 psig (1.7 bar). To provide a free path for pressure relief, there are four spacer pads which maintain 0.023" clearance when gage is surface mounted. Do not obstruct the gap created by these pads. The blowout plug is not used on models above 180" of water pressure, medium or high pressure models, or on Gages which require an elastomer other than silicone for the diaphragm. The blowout plug should not be used as a system overpressure control. High supply pressures may still cause the gage to fail due to over pressurization, resulting in property damage or serious injury. Good engineering practices should be utilized to prevent your system from exceeding the ratings or any component. O-ring seal for cover assures pressure integrity of case. Samarium Cobalt magnet mounted at one end of range spring rotates helix without mechanical linkages.

Precision Measurement for Sensitive Applications

With a measurement range as low as 0 to 0.25 inches WC, the Dwyer 2000-00 Magnehelic Gage is highly suitable for monitoring low-pressure differentials in HVAC, cleanroom, and laboratory environments. Its instant mechanical response and 2% accuracy provide real-time, dependable readings necessary for process safety and quality control.

Rugged Construction and Reliable Protection

Encased in a die-cast aluminum housing with a durable epoxy finish, the Dwyer 2000-00 is built to withstand harsh environments. The enclosure meets IP54 standards, offering dust and limited water ingress protection. The acrylic lens ensures clear gauge visibility, while the included mounting and adapter accessories streamline installation.

Versatile Installation and Maintenance

This gauge supports both surface and flush mounting options, accommodating diverse installation needs. External zero adjustment is accessible through the gauge cover, enabling quick recalibration without removing the gauge. The device is supplied with all necessary adapters, mounting hardware, and a detailed instruction sheet for straightforward setup.

FAQs of Dwyer 2000-00 Magnehelic Gage Range 0-.25 Inch WC:

Q: How is the Dwyer 2000-00 Magnehelic Gage typically installed?

A: The gauge is designed for vertical standard mounting for optimal accuracy, but it can also be installed in other orientations, albeit with reduced accuracy. It allows for both surface and flush mounting and comes with adapters, screws, and an instruction sheet to assist with installation.

Q: What types of media can the Magnehelic Gage measure?

A: This gauge is suitable for measuring differential pressure of air and non-corrosive gases only. It should not be used with corrosive media or liquids, as it is specifically designed for low-pressure, non-corrosive applications.

Q: When should I perform zero adjustment on the gauge?

A: Zero adjustment should be performed whenever you notice the pointer deviating from zero when no pressure is applied, or after relocating or reinstalling the gauge. This ensures maximum accuracy and is easily accomplished via the external adjustment through the transparent cover.

Q: Where can the Dwyer 2000-00 Gage be used?

A: The gage is well-suited for industrial settings in India and worldwide, including HVAC systems, laboratories, filter monitoring, and cleanroomsanywhere precise, low differential air or gas pressure readings are required under moderate temperature and pressure conditions.

Q: What is the process for reading pressure measurements on this device?

A: Simply connect the gage to your system using the provided NPT plugs and adapters, ensure it is properly zeroed, and read the analog display. The red pointer clearly indicates the differential pressure on the white aluminum dial marked in inches of water column (WC).

Q: What are the main usage advantages of this Magnehelic Gage?

A: Benefits include rapid mechanical response, reliable analog display, external zero calibration, rugged IP54-protected construction, and compatibility with air or non-corrosive gases at low pressures. Its precision and ease of use make it a preferred choice for industrial air quality control and safety monitoring.
